Hedgehog

My Dear Daughter 3 has loved hedgehogs for years and if possible she would love to have one for a pet.
Unfortunately for her hedgehogs are not for keeping at home. We arranged a several attractive spots in our garden and since we live close to the woods we hope that one day a hedgehog like one of those spots to spend the winter time.

As you notice before I have a new hobby. (ooh nooo.....)
Teddy bear making.
Never knew it is so much fun. On etsy there are a lot of bear makers who sell patterns. I fell in love with this hedgehog . It would be a perfect gift for DD3.

Mostly I take pictures during the process. This time I was so busy that I didn't took pictures but I took little movies to show a friend. Maybe you like to see them too.

He became a bit bigger as I thought he would be. (especially his head)
But still very cute.

A happy gift for a happy girl.

After a long break I started a 365 days project again.

Geocaching and Ducks II

October 30, 2015 I wrote about two ducks who went travelling to my friend Holly.
It was a miracle that the first one arrived.  Even more miraculous is that the second one arrived Holly as well.

It travelled 10939.5 miles!
It visited Austin Texas. I've been
 to a several times.
Finally it is placed in Portland Oregon. A few years ago we visited Portland when we travelled through Oregon and Washington with an RV.
It's a miracle.
It is fun to read Holly's post about this traveling duck. (Click)

If you like to crochet this little duck you can find the pattern here. (click)
The pattern is easy and very clear written.

Red and white spotted mushroom and knitted socks.

It's a beautiful time of the year. Nature has a lot of surprises like this Red and White spotted mushroom.

I finished another pair of socks. This time I used the pattern: 'Hermione's everyday socks'
It is a great pattern, although it has some challenges for me. These socks have a few mistakes. Next pair will be better :-)

Yarn: Drops fabel (not my favorite yarn)
Needle size: 2,5 mm

A few days ago I went on an excursion to watch the European Bison (Wisent)
Such an impressive beautiful animals.

Quilt inspired by an antique quilt I saw in Austin Texas.

Finally I finished my quilt which is inspired by a quilt I saw in Austin TX.
In 2012 I made a lovely trip to Texas with my DH.
In an antique shop I saw a quilt which caught my attention immediately. Unfortunately it was too expensive to come home with me. So I decided to make my own version. On the same trip I bought the pink fabric and some fabrics for the blocks.
And now 4 years later I finished the quilt after it became an ufo for a long time.
I'm happy with it. It is a lap size quilt. Hand quilted and machine pieced.

Thijsse's Hof

Today I went to the Thijsse's Hof to spot a kingfisher.
I did.
Unfortunately he or she was too far away for a nice picture.

While waiting in the sun for a kingfisher I spotted these birds and a dragonfly.

Today in the Dunes, my favorite place:

What a funny tiny water bird.

The always impressive Highland cattle.

What's in my hoop.

Years ago I found a very nice quilt in an antique shop in Austin TX.
Lucky enough I took pictures of it because I couldn't get this beauty out of my mind.  I even found the perfect fabric for the sashings and for some blocks on the same trip.
Finally I'm ready to quilt it and I hope to finish it soon.

The original quilt I love so much.

Socks

( About two weeks ago I found the little heart shape stone)

I love it when you cast on for a sock and you get to the point where you can actually start knitting.

Amsterdam by boat

A few days ago we went  for the first time by our boat to Amsterdam. It took us 2 hours sailing from our home port. Which was very pleasant with this beautiful weather.

I can tell you that this tour was so  fun, and I liked it a lot. Take a look yourself. I think the following pictures don't need words.

After a nice tour we went home again.

They are exhausted :-)

And my knitting work....... (socks, a project which I always take with me on the boat)... didn't came out of this pocket. Maybe next time.
